A g-g Diagram is a chart that graphs the lateral and longitudinal acceleration. This chart is an important indicator of the performance of any racecar. During a race, the vehicle should be accelerating at all times; either laterally (turning), longitudinally (accelerating and braking), or some combination of both. Engineers and drivers should try to maximize the acceleration at all times.
The solid line around the edge of the chart represents the "g-g" boundary and indicates the maximum acceleration the vehicle is capable of if driven perfectly.
