This page is for new FS-teams that want to compete primarily with a combustion engine, but it applies for all classes. This page goes through every component that is required to compete at an FS competition, possible suppliers and alternatives.

Shutdown circuits:

Master Killswitch:

Cockpit Killswitch:

Component:
Manufacturer:

Distributor: Comment:
Emergency Stop Switch, SPST-NC, Twist to Release
ABB

Farnell Rated for 127V and 1.5A

Inertia switch:

FSAE rules state that EV cars must have an inertia switch, while IC cars only should have an inertia switch. It's a good safety feature to include and easy to install, so there's little reason to leave it off even if you're an IC team.

You are recommended to get the Sensata Resettable Crash Sensor or equivalent.

Other electrical components:

Wires:

This is a summary of the topic. For more information, see the page on wire.
